Introducing the SEND Peer Review Offer with Kelly Nash

At Maiden Erlegh Institute, we are pleased to launch a new offer to support schools and trusts in developing inclusive, evidence-informed practice — the SEND Peer Review, led by Kelly Nash, SEND School Improvement Director.

Kelly brings extensive knowledge and insight to the role, developed through a rich and varied career across mainstream schools and local authority services. Her professional background includes:

  • Experience as a Primary SENCo and senior leader

  • Former Area SENCo for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead

  • Expertise in developing high-quality, inclusive SEND provision

This new service is designed to offer a supportive and transparent process for colleagues at all stages of their leadership journey. Whether you are refining your current approach, new to SEND leadership, or seeking external perspective, the review process is tailored to meet your context.

Who is it for?

  • Schools or trusts seeking peer support or validation of current practice

  • New Headteachers or SENCos looking for a full SEND audit

  • Leaders developing or reviewing SEND strategy

  • Colleagues overseeing alternative provision, outreach or resource bases

What does it involve?

The SEND Peer Review includes:

  • A pre-review self-evaluation, helping shape the visit around your setting

  • A bespoke in-school day, co-constructed to reflect your priorities

  • Immediate verbal feedback and a written report, supporting next steps

The process is built around partnership — celebrating what’s working well, while offering practical insight to inform planning and development.
